4Classic  Aug 23, 2009
Great album nice rhymes, I like how he stay with the subject, Phanantik did not talk about other believers causing division. He just rhymed what he felt God put on his heart.

5Get this in your CD/MP3 PLAYER NOW!!!  Jul 22, 2009
I've listen to plenty of Christian Hip Hop CD's and this one is a classic. While some might disagree (M. J. Adams "Ergon" in particular) on if the title matches up with the subject material, there is no doubt in my mind that Phanatik points ya in the direction of Christ! Since of course that is what he is trying to do...A+ fo dat. Now depending on what you grew up listening to hip-hop/rap wise...you will either think this album is on smash or you'll just find it mildly entertaining. This is DEFINITELY an East Coast or Hip Hip purist album...and one of the best I've ever heard might I add Christian or NOT! "95 degress" and "Pyramid Scheme" reflect the depth of content mixed superb lyricism. There is not one song...okay maybe one...but not many songs lack true content. Which I can really say about many albums of other artist. IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO THINK WHEN YOU LISTEN TO RAP....DON'T PURCHASE THIS ALBUM...it just ain't fo ya! If you enjoy pure mic skills DO NOT PASS GO....DOWNLOAD NOW!

4Truly blessed brother  May 09, 2008
This album, like many Christian Rap albums, took a while to grow on me. The production is the main reason for this one. But, if you listen to the lyrics, this album is just as good as The Incredible Walk. I can see the Light of Christ shining through this man in every rhyme I've ever heard him spit.

2Not true to its title  Jan 07, 2008
Ok, this was a solid release from Phanatik. Personally, i think it's far better than his first one just on production and beats alone. Of course Christ is lifted up and his lyrical content is solid. However, my beef wit this release (and most of Cross Movement's releases) is that it is not true to its title. Phanatik says he's dealing with the phenomenon of crime and addressing its consequences. However, he does very little (if any) analysis of crime and the criminal mind. Cross Movement as a whole can come off very preachy and dogmatic where there is no room for deeper anaylsis or critical thinking and they brush everything under the rug of "lifting up Christ". I'm all for Christ being lifted up, but bombarding listeners with tales of how bad they are and what they're not doing right isn't going to get the job done. The album does not explore crime as a socioeconomic element that (at least in urban communities) is directly related to poverty. And that most who participate in it are not in it for kicks but because they feel like they have no other options. But CMR never deals with such issues. This album would have been far more potent if it at least tried to identify with and understand the criminal and the criminal mind.

5Stop Reading the Review & Buy It!!  Dec 19, 2007
If you are looking for an album where you won't skip through half the tracks, then cop this one. This is a themed album in that it is sort of set in court and Phanatik is a key witness (pun intended). Because of this, Christ isn't mentioned heavily in all of the tracks. For example, two of the tracks are "story rhymes." This is not a slight on the album. It's just an observation. Outside of the intro, there are only 2 tracks that don't resonate with me. Conversely, 12 tracks "made the cut" and got transferred to my ipod. If you don't like "Snitch" or the horns on "Work it Out," then you don't have a pulse. Though I no longer listen to carnal hip hop, I grew up on the likes of Rakim, D.O.C. KRS-One, Public Enemy, Biggie etc. With the latest stuff from Cross Movement and Reach Records (last 2 years) I don't miss it at all. If you are a hip hop head like me, buy this album. Your only disappointment will be finding out that you might be trapped in the "Pyramid Scheme" that Phanatik flows about.
