positive surprise Apr 19, 2003 This is the first time I hear a Jimmy Cliff album and I'm positively surprised. It's good reggae music mixed with 80spop. To one of my suprises La Toya Jackson wrote two songs: American Sweet and Brown Sugar. She already wrote his major hit "Raeggae nights", and if you liked that song, you will like this album too.

Cliffhanger's sound is Jimmy Cliff's biggest and grandest, showcasing an amazing variety of new reggae hooks that became the basis of much of the reggae music in the years following Cliffhanger's release.
