Inside The Studio, Comprehending The Concept Apr 01, 2008 Part of a series that originally aired on VH-1, the importance of chronicling the production of this album is a vital piece of rock-n-roll history.
Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright are interviewed about the writing and recording process, which was truly a band effort.
There is concert and studio footage, video clips and original demo recording sessions. Interesting sidebars include the commentary by engineer Alan Parsons and cover artist Storm Thorgerson, whose concept is a defining moment in the merging of art with music.
New ground was being paved in studio techniques and there is special focus on the creation of the clock loops on Time, the cash register sounds on Money and the stunning vocal chorus on The Great Gig in the Sky.
The DVD is essential for Pink Floyd fans and music historians, as grand light is shed on the brilliant work done to produce a classic album.

Pink Genius Dec 12, 2007 This DVD takes you behind the scenes and lets you see the genius of Pink Floyd. After a short intro of what Pink Floyd was up to before "Dark Side Of The Moon", the bandmembers tell the story of how they made the greatest album in history. They walk you through each song, letting you know how the musical and lyrical ideas came about. You find out what instruments were used for particular sections of the album. The most interesting part, for me, was finding out about the "talking" you hear when you listen to the album. They let you know who said what and why. The album's engineer, Alan Parsons, is also featured. He gives you the lowdown on the different tracking techniques used for each song. The DVD also contains archival footage of the band recording parts of the album and Bonus Interviews that pertain to the music and lyrics as well as the graphics used on the cover. I own quite a few "Classic Album" disks and I have to say this is the best one of them all. It takes the experience of a "Headphone Classic" recording even farther than I thought possible. Genius!
Behind the scenes and back in memory Oct 24, 2007 This is Pink Floyd taking us through time. A good documentary. In fact, the whole Classic Album series is a must for any music fan.
