Classic Motorhead line-up: creates Classic Album Aug 12, 2009 This is a really a good insight into the three original Motorhead members. Lemmy is very personable, and candid in his interviews - as is Eddie and Phil. But for some reason, Lemmy has forgotton he is only 1/3 of (the original) Motorhead. The other 2/3 belong to 'Fast' Eddie Clarke (guitar), and Phil(thy) Taylor (drums). The current 2009 Motorhead line-up, is about as original as Molly Hatchet (2009).
I understand Lemmy had to keep touring - as this is his lifestyle. But to turn his back on the original line-up, is shameful. Lemmy should get the original lads together, and tour as 'ACE of SPADES', - just as Black Sabbath; is currently touring as 'Heaven and Hell'. For legal reasons, this simplifies everything.
Any Motorhead fan of their classic era: Motorhead/Bomber/Overkill/Ace of Spades/Iron Fist/and Road to Hammersmith, requires this disc to complete their collection.
Come'on Lemmy, the disc shows us all, your still a good guy. Let's reunite the band for an album and a tour. Life is Short - look what happened with Randy Rhoads.

A very nice intro to Motorhead Mar 18, 2006 I never even heard of Motorhead until the late 1980's and didn't really listen to them until 1996. But when I did, it was one of the most physically exciting musical experiences of my life, and my introduction to the group was 'Ace of Spades.' I adore the 'Classic Albums' series and was like a pig in...mud getting to see the band discuss their experiences surrounding the making of the album, as well as do a little catch-up on where they came from and how they became a classic Motorhead line-up.

Not Very Impressed Feb 23, 2006 I found this to be one of the weakest of the 'Classic Albums' series. It seems to focus on Phil's unfunny and unrelated jabberings, with really very little info as to how the album itself was created. Considering the point of this series is to tell the story behind the making of the album, this one is a pretty pointless episode. If Phil hadn't been involved in this DVD, and the talking had been left to Lemmy, it would have undoubtably made for a much more entertaining and informative documentary.
On the plus side, you do get to see the original Motorhead line-up of Lemmy, Phil and Eddie playing a couple of instrumental versions of tracks from the album (via the magic of CGI)...so it's worth buying for that. It's just a real shame that the rest of the DVD is wasted on NOT telling the story behind the album.

Check out Philthy's neck! Jul 28, 2005 Philthy Animal shows viewers the back of his neck on this DVD. Why is that so great you ask? Well he claims it is a calcium deposit, but it looks like he's growing a second head!
Seriously though, this DVD is great because it talks about the classic album Ace of Spades, Motorhead's fourth studio release. If you know your metal, then you know this album influenced countless bands, from Metallica to Guns n Roses.
Lemmy does most of the talking since he is Motorhead. Watch as he plays in the studio with the master tapes, talks about how the album came about, and some great road stories.
Fast Eddie said it best when he claimed he'd rather have Ace of Spades than a million quid in the bank. "This album will be here long after I'm gone, it's a legacy".
Hearing how and where the album cover was shot is priceless.

Great Interview, this is not a concert Jun 25, 2005 In a simple way, in this DVD you'll see:
A lot of interviews with original line up members (Fast Eddie, Phil Taylor and obviously Lemmy) talking about how they released Ace of Spades in datails like the picture that appears as cover, why Lemmy was bumped from Hawkwind and other stuff.
Something great is when they played (with help of tech) the chase is better than the catch, it is going to kick your ass.
If you want a live concert buy 25th still alive & boneshaker DVD, but if you want to know more about the band and very good details buy this.
