Thank you Bernard Apr 26, 2009 I first heard Bernard Allison around 7 years ago. Being the son of the great Luther Allison, I knew he had to be good. So I got some of his recordings. Everything that I heard from him is at least pretty good if not out of this world mind staggeringly awesome. This record has a good range of upbeat rock driven blues that contain some of the most insanely delicious chops to inspired slow burn more traditional blues. This is the most fully realized sounding record that I have heard from him yet. Buy it. You will be glad you did. This is another one that is very deserving of 5 stars.
Coming into focus with nothing left to prove. He is the man! Mar 10, 2009 Excellent electric rockish blues with Bernard's ever-lovin guitar work. Full-sail arrangements. Choice band mates. He just keeps getting better.

Nearly Perfect Funky, Blues Guitar! Oct 17, 2008 This album never ceases to please. Bernard Allison has found that fine seam that lies somewhere between blues, funk, rock, and heavy Hendrix-ian guitar shredding. Just when you think the music is veering off in one direction, it does a course correction - and it's danceable in a bluesy way. This album deserves a Handy Award; Well Done!!!

An excellent blues CD Jul 09, 2008 This is a wonderful CD. Mr. Allison shows his chops both instrumentally and vocally, playing many styles of blues on different numbers, some with a blues-rock emphasis. The recording quality is very good. I don't write many reviews, but I was truly impressed with this album. I don't think it has received adequate acclaim. It should be in every blues-lover's collection.

High point of his career Mar 18, 2008 This is an excellent disc, and it seems Bernard has finally made his best work. He truly has found that mix of soul, blues, and electric guitar that is natural-his masterpiece. Eric Gales is the second guitarist on this album, and really adds something organic to this disc. Eric Gales is a great artist on his own, but his outstanding guitar work on this disc is to add compliment to Bernard Allison's groove. If you are a blues or guitar fan, this is an album to own.
