useful tool Oct 05, 2009 I enjoyed flipping through the pages of this book and just getting a feel for what Case Interviews are like. They really get you thinking in a different way about questions that one might otherwise dismiss as being impossible questions to answer. I would recommend this book to really anyone who likes to think about interesting questions.
Case in Point Delivers Sep 21, 2009 Marc Cosentino wrote a great book because he cares.
There's no mystery that if you want to succeed during your case interview, you're going to need the right tools and smart guidance. This book gives you both. You're going to want to read this twice, really making an effort to internalize the framework when you approach future problems. It's a flexible framework that puts you in control. Use it; it's wonderful.
In the name of full disclosure, I recently attended Marc's case workshop at Brown University (where I currently study). Throughout his case workshop, I knew from the get-go that Marc understood what's up. He gets it, because he knows there's something important at stake. You want to do consulting and you want to destroy your case interview. So read the book. Read it again. And practice.
Marc teaches at Harvard University and tours all over the Ivy League, but these materials shouldn't be reserved only for a select group of institutions. You want to get involved. You want to learn, and you don't want to get left behind. This book is where you start getting ahead or where you start playing catchup. Either way, it's a tremendous value. Good luck.

Best book on the market Sep 15, 2009 Phenomenal. I'm a premed and had no intention of ever going into business. Until a month before my interviews I didn't actually know what a consultant was or how to solve a business problem. I ended up winning an internship at every firm I applied to as a junior in college. (I accepted a spot at Bain & Company, which I liked best of the big three.) It's all down to this book. Sleep with it under your pillow.
I read a lot of books in preparation for my consulting interviews ("The Vault Guide," "The McKinsey Way," among others), and none compares to this one.

Not bad but poorly edited Jul 28, 2009 This book appears to be the standard in the field, and it provides a good intro for those unfamiliar with strategy consulting. That being said, it contains a ton of unnecessary fluff and the editing is horribly sloppy especially for the section before the actual case studies. The entire "Ivy Case System" can be condensed into 2 pages - it is well worth your while to do this as an exercise and to avoid having to memorize dozens of pages of the book. Some of the responses to the case questions are also very generic and I doubt they will get you far in a real interview. I may change my mind after I interview, but overall I would give this book a 3/5 for now and would strongly suggest that Cosentino fire his editor.
The best book I have read in recent days Jul 22, 2009 I am fully satisfied with the delivery speed and the book contents. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is eager to get a job, especially consulting thing.
