Other than technical defect, good printer Nov 13, 2008 I've had my printer for about 10 months. I loved it in the beginning. For the price, I thought it was a great printer (and still do think the quality printing is good). My problem is that after about 5 months, the paper feeder would no longer feed paper into the printer. The rollers would roll, but wouldn't catch the paper to feed it in. I called Canon and they sent me a refurbished one to replace it and paid the shipping to return the old one. I was happy with their prompt response, and I do disagree with reviews saying Canon's service is bad. I would give this product 4 stars, but I'm waiting to see if I'll have the same problem with my replacement printer first.

Happy! Oct 15, 2008 Excellent utility printer. even good with photos. only frustration...the ink cartridges are tiny. I have to change them often.
So Far...So Good Oct 12, 2008 I ordered this product based on its capabilities and after reading a lot of reviews. I have a small business and use it for basic printing. Its a little slow (processing) but works very well...plus it was easy for me to install and I know very little about computers/accessories. I would recommend it for light printing needs....
New Printer Oct 12, 2008 I am very satisfied with the printer. I like Canon Printers. I own 2 others. They do a great job of printing and they are very economical to operate.

Don't waste your time or money Sep 25, 2008 Canon Pixma MP470 Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printer (2177B002)
I bought a Canon MP470 for my wife. She is a school teacher so I thought that she could use something like this at home, a printer/copier/scanner, so she doesn't have to wait in line during school hours. Anyway, I bought this product thru Amazon thinking that this was a great deal... $75 for an all in one! I was so wrong. It worked fine for about a month and then there was a mysterious paper jam. I searched and searched but there was not even a fragment of paper in the machine. So, we tried again. We purchased the same model from a local dept store. I set up the machine and this time it did not even print one page successfully. The printer would not feed the paper thru to print, then again I received the annoying paper jam error when nothing even made it to the printer.
My advice. Pay a little extra. $75 for an all in one is too good to be true. Your machine may be working fine now but the time will come. I have spent more than $75 of my own time trying to troubleshoot. Instead, I am going back to the manufacturer and demanding my money back... not a replacement... a full refund.
This was my first Canon product. I thought they had a good reputation in this market, but I guess they tried to get too cheap. Never again... I will stick with Lexmark or Epson from here on out for my printing needs.
