4Wondered who this was...  Nov 19, 2009
I have to admit, I first heard the "No Rest For The Wicked" song from the opening scenes of the game Borderlands. Decided I had to find that band right then, and here they are.

Definitely worth the download .. especially so at $2.99.

4Fun? Yes. Derivitive? Yes.  Nov 09, 2009
I'd been hearing the single "No Rest For The Wicked" all summer and every time it came on I'd turn it up and rock out a bit. Eventually I broke down and got the album. The first few tracks were quite good, but like other people said kind of White Stripesey. Not that that's a bad thing, there's isn't a band out there that doesn't sound like somebody who came before them. Unfortunately (for me at least) is that a few of the tracks veer a little too close to Arctic Monkeys, Kaizer Chiefs territory and these bands already sound enough like each other that we don't need an American band imitating bland Brit Pop.
So it's not a perfect album, but when was the last time you heard one of those? It's got enough fun upbeat rock songs to be worth it. Some people have panned this band because they lack originality, but chances are they're such hipsters that no music is good enough for them anyway. Listen to it because it's fun, not because you're looking for music that will define your existence.

5I'm Hooked !!  Nov 06, 2009
1st heard them during a NASCAR race, then Letterman.. I was drawn to the musis instantly could feel the music..with the mixture of funk-rock-punk is good.. They are all really nice guys with talent!! I got autographs @ some pics.. They are great live and beleive me theres never a dull moment, mingling with the crowd after the show, I hope they stay down to earth and would love to see them again.. i was blessed to hvae seen them 2 times whis week.. If you haven't heard their music you need to.. I saw cage the elephant 2x this week, saw them @ Killarneys pub in Riverside,Ca. short set acoustic version , last night in Hollywood !! Can't get enough of this great new band !!!!!!Peace.. Melissa

5This is the real thing  Nov 06, 2009
Forget comparisons to the The Strokes or The Hives. Cage the Elephant turns them into bubblegum. I'm 53 years old and the is is the first real rock and roll band I've heard in a long time.

5Rock & Roll isnt dead,....  Nov 06, 2009
I admit I only recently heard this band and the songs, "Ain't no rest for the wicked" & "In one ear" got my attention so I ordered the cd, I a not disappointed at all. Most cds have a couple of "not worthy" tracks, this cd has none, I like all the songs. We need more bands like Cage the Elephant.
