In defense of the album. Apr 19, 2007 Some of the reviewers dislike like how Zebrahead has changed from a multi-genre band into strictly pop punk.
As a pop punk fan they completely changed into something I like. If you like said genre of music (yellowcard, story of the year) and a touch of metal and rap (think linkin park), then bump the low scores up by two stars.
New singer Matty Lewis is the matching cap contributing to Zebrahead's best release yet.

Anthem Rocks! Jan 30, 2007 What, suddenly because there's a new lead singer they're not good anymore? Yeah, right. This cd still has the unique sound that made Zebrahead such an awesome band in the first place. Besides, Anthem is undeniably one of their best songs of all time. It's right up there with Wasted and Rescue Me.

what's the problem? Nov 23, 2006 I don't get it? Everyone says that zebrahead has changed so much. And they're exactly right. they have changed. But it seems everyone wants to hang on to something that can't stay the same forever. Music is about progression. You can't listen to music in a vaccuum. Bands progress, music evolves and changes. What does everyone expect? I happen to think that the new music is very good. The guitar parts especially. Even with justin's departure, the music hasn't really changed THAT much. It's kind of like falling in love with someone and then when they change your like, "this isn't the girl i fell in love with, what's going on here?" My point is, things change, you have to change with it.

What happened? Aug 18, 2006 When I heard that Justin left the band I was concerned as to what would happen to the Zebrahead I knew. Now I know, they have become Simple Plan, and not a great version of Simple Plan either. It's not a horrible album, it's just not Zebrahead. All the songs do tend to blend together and it's hard to tell one from the other. The only songs I care for are "Rated U For Ugly", "Anthem", "Broadcast To The World", "Here's To You", and "The Walking Dead" and it was a struggle to find those. We can only pray Justin comes back, until then go check out I Hate Kate.
Still Good Jul 25, 2006 Each of Zebrahead's albums has held elements of their of previous work, yet have also made significant changes with each. This album is no different. New singer, with a distinct leaning towards both punk-pop and heavier sounds. Waste of Mind was a very different album and still stands on it's own as completely original. But Zebrahead has never completely looked in a new direction, just taken sideroads along the way. You may hear a lot of elements of current popular music, but there's always something a little different, a little heavier, a little better. I'm just happy the band with so little mainstream acclaim continues to make albums and stick to it's own sound.
