4Gimme More Britney  Jan 28, 2010
I bought this CD because it had "Break The Ice" and "Piece Of Me" on it. It also had "Radar" which was on Circus, the first CD I bought from her.

The moment I got this, the first thing I did was put it in my CD player and listen to it. I think it had a few good songs, but I have to admit I didn't like it nearly as much as "Circus". I think the songs "Get N aked (I Got A Plan)" and "Toy Soldier" could probably have been better if they had been written with different tunes/notes.

Either way, this is an okay CD. Buy it if you like Britney's music, and also buy Circus. :)

5God Bless Britney!  Nov 22, 2009
Britneys reign of pop continues, and it has never been more alluring. this album is dark and tragic, yet optimistic. anyone with even a slight awareness of pop culture knows that britney was not involved in the creative process for this album. this was a difficult point in her life, as it seemed career wise she had lost focus. There was no discipline or desire to hold onto her crown as the princess of pop, yet she defied all expectations with blackout. When she was totally counted out...she came back with this. And silenced her critics and destroyed her competitors.

This album is a full on embrace of the kinky schoolgirl sleaze that was only hinted at in the past. if britney was simply giving you a peek in her first few albums, she lets it all hang out on blackout. She still has that star quality, but it has never been more effective than on these tracks. the music is cutting edge electronica/dance. The producers earned every cent paid to them by britneys management.

lesson to the miley cyrus's of the world: if you are going to be a true pop diva, at least make the music good. miley has yet to realize this but britney nails it on every track. And if I may speak regarding lady gaga...lets call a spade a spade. at least britney has the courage on this album not to hide behind a facade of pseudo intellectual artistic irony in order to get attention. She is willing to just dance for the sake of it, and won't resort to pulling a madonna and pretending it is something more meaningful than it actually is. Britney just does not give a damn and wants to get krunk. Other singers rely on gimmicks and Miss Spears is the real thing and she is still standing, drinks in hand!

You thought she'd be gone after her first album. A flash in the pop pan. She can't sing. She does not write her own material. But she works hard for that money...listen to this album and you will see that Britney has fought for and earned her crown. And it is still hers, with out a doubt. Work it. Miley is probably a little scared, as am I. But I think I like it.

5suprisingly a really good dance record....  Oct 19, 2009
2007 was a bad year for Britney. all her crazy antics just turned people away from her including myself. even though i'm not a big fan of britney, her album blackout was really good even though it didn't have much success. blackout is in the zone pt. 2 with the partying and lustful themes. of all the albums she had released in the past, i definitely think that this is her best. you could tell that on each album, she improves a little.

1.gimme more-great intro "it's britney bitch". she performed this song at the 07 vmas which turned out to be a disastrous and embarrassing performance. despite all that, i enjoy the song and it did well on the charts. 5/5

2.piece of me- this is my favorite song off the album. the lyrics are catchy especially the chorus. it's cute and sarcastic in a way where she pokes fun at herself. "I'm Miss Media Karma". 5/5

3.radar- reminds me of soft cell's "tainted love". great throwback. 5/5

4.break the ice-didn't like the intro but the song sounds good eventually. 5/5

5.heaven on earth-sounds pretty 80ish/beverly hills like. 5/5

6.get naked- this song would have sound better without the weird, creepy voice in the background. it's like hearing sounds from hell. 3/5

7.freakshow- i like the beats. sounds pretty bouncy. 4/5

8.toy soldier-cute pop song with a nice little drumbeat. 5/5

9.hot as ice- the beats sound like the circus...crazy, silly, and freakish. it's a fun song but her vocals get kinda annoying toward the end. 4.5/5

10.ooh ooh baby- did they used a sample in this song. the beats sounds kinda familiar but i don't know the name of it. i like really the guitars. 5/5

11.perfect lover- it's very seductive and sensual. 4/5

12.why should i be sad-this is another favorite of mines. "hey baby...what's your name?". i like that easygoing vibe here. it sounds very different from the rest of her songs on here. 5/5

5Britney Is Unstoppable!  Sep 27, 2009
This is the *16-track Japanese Edition. If one thing is certain is that Britney Spears is unstoppable, unpredictable, and definitely music savvy at a time in her life when things seem to be black. Yet despite the blackout she manages to hold her head up high producing a smashing sensational production!

Every single track is great with no fillers, no boring slow styles, or her past teenage pop sound. This is a grown up Britney that will most definitely appeal to all ages. The tigress got out of the cage and the "true" diva has now stepped out to show the world of fans, critics, and on-goers nothing can bring her down! The single status suits her much better!

HEAVEN ON EARTH is one of my top favorites for the totally mind blowing dance/electronica sounds with deep heavy "aggressive" attack vocals that change on ways not imaginable even whispering, "Your breath, your face, your hands, your tongue" describing how she falls hard for someone. GET NAKED (I Got A Plan) is a catchy, addictive, and club friendly song as the music spirals in electronica with a sexy guy totally hot sounding singing in the background sounding like nights at the club as you glance at the most outrageous person you'd like to escape with although quite naughty and dangerous.

*The bonus tracks are "Outta This World", "Everybody", "Get Back", and "Gimme More" (Oakenfold Remix). The Japanese Edition includes the lyrical booklet not found on the regular release, obi-strip, and added 80s disco dance vibe bonus hits.

*The first bonus track,"Outta This World", has the references to finding love like a sheer fantasy singing, "Your love is outta this world/How you bring me down to earth/I love how you put me first/Baby feel my word/Cuz I'm singin' universes about you...".

*The second bonus track, "Everybody" is an 80's vibe song with the Eurythmics clips on the background --- Eurythmics - Greatest Hits. It's a nice reminiscent track of the days when The Best of Depeche Mode, Vol. 1, and punk was hot. Disco blends with pop and dance quite phenomenal with Britney sounding seductive and sweet all in one!

*The 15th track and bonus "Get Back" is one of my favorite songs of the entire album. The song has a sexy guy in the background, fast up-tempo beats with hypnotic party sensations, along naughty but fun beats. The blending of her vocals and the guys intensify the moods to get the club vibe high, Some tracks, "I came to party baby/You might think I'm crazy by the way im moving to the beat you standing on the wall whatcha come here for your gonna feel the heat dancing next to me...".

*The last bonus is "Gimme More" Oakenfold Remix with swirling techno trends, that elevate, pulse, and echo "gimmmme gimmme more more more!!!" This is the dance-floor friendly style to dance non-stop, get pumped for more or just enjoy to party with friends or alone!

Aside the bonus tracks, other Stand-out tracks and favorites like Gimme More, Piece Of Me, and Freakshow are quite good thus reinforcing a truly outstanding release totally mind blowing, unimagined, and plain hot as ice! She may be giving freak shows, she may be breaking the ice too much or getting naked but she knows people want a piece of her! As for love, she doesn't settle for a toy soldier as she needs a perfect lover to say ooh ooh baby, after all why should she be sad if she can feel like heaven on earth? Everybody get back the dance moods from the 80's, the new era, and you'll be singing gimme more over and over!

*A Blackout Deluxe Edition with Videos digipak would be nice or a double disc with remixes on a second disc.
