Description:

Acceptance emerges from the re-ignited Seattle scene where they have spent the last 3 years developing a passionate and loyal following throughout the North West. The Band has toured nationally and shared stages with the likes of Juliana Theory, Finch, Further Seems Forever as well as performing successfully on the Warped Tour and Cornerstone Festivals. When the bands debut record, Lost For Words came out on Seattle Indie, Rocketstar Records and quickly approached the 5000 sales mark, the industry at large began taking notice. When the band recorded a new 5 song demo with Aaron Sprinkle (MxPx, Poor Old Lu) this industry interest turned into serious courting by several major labels. After putting a professional management team in place to help determine the bands course of action, the band made the decision to release the Black Lines To Battlefields EP on The Militia Group who has been a long time friend and supporter of Acceptance. What the future holds for the band is made clear by simply listening to the CD or seeing the band live. Sincere, Sophisticated and lyrically driven modern rock that has an extraordinary ability to connect deep with fans of all types of rock, punk, and hardcore.

4Super CD  Apr 27, 2008
I heard Acceptance a couple years ago on MTV2 so I rushed out to get the cd. I was defiantly not disappointed.

5:)  Mar 24, 2006
Gosh, these guys r good live. saw them twice, first when they were at chain last year and with anberlin and saosin at H.O.B. anaheim. This ep is also good, along with phantoms. I like this entire ep, and only a few songs from phantoms: take cover, this conversation is over, getting over you, so contagious, the letter, different, in the cold, and gloria/ us apearing. Besudes that, I actually prefer to listen to this album more than phantoms, and this album is a must. and to those who r getting into this band, i urge u to buy this first, and then phantoms.

4More quality emo-rock from the Northwest  Nov 18, 2005
I first heard about Acceptance after seeing them live with Finch. I though they were pretty good. Sort of Emo-ish and maybe too catchy for their own good. They had an odd presence on stage. The singer acted almost bipolar as he sang about loss and death, while all the time smiling and jumping around like he just won a million dollars. It was so simple yet very surreal. I thought: "I've got to check these guys out, they rock"

At that time the critically aclaimed LP "Phantoms" hadn't even come out yet. These guys were really nothing more than a cult pop-rock-emo band with some mild attitude. Oh, and yes they are from Seattle. (I've been reviewing a lot of bands from that scene lately) They recorded a demo in 2000 which led to constant touring in the area. It took them 3 years to do it, but eventually they created a niche in the northwest emo-rock scene and put out this EP, which includes 5 new songs and 2 live tracks. A must for any fan. The song content is smooth and sincere, with occasional melody that loves to get you hooked.

What really impresses me though, is the variation. Every song has a personality all it's own. Acceptance deserves much credit for being able to meld all their emotion and creativity to make every song a different experience.

The lyrics are most definately emo, but not in a whiney way. The vocals are much more serious and calming than other similiar acts. The singer has a depth to his voice that really makes him a treat to listen to. His annunciation especially is astounding.

All the songs here are very good, but the obvious standout track is "seeing is believing" It's about as good as a song can get. Extremely catchy, and masterful verse lyrics with a simple but sweet chorus. It's very hard not to fall in love with this song. That's all that needs to be said.

The production's quite nice for the most part. It's sort of "wah-wah" sounding in the background for some of the songs. I guess it's supposed to make it sound live. I don't know what they were thinking when they did it, but it couldn't have been practical thinking. Still, it's an EP and I shouldn't be judging it off of sound quality.

Acceptance are big friends with "the militia group", which I admire greatly. TMG has always showcased great bands and to know that Acceptance is involved with them really makes me happy.

If you can, see this band live. I enjoyed my show a whole lot, and I didn't even know who they were. It's going to be great seeing them again knowing what to expect.

3Good EP  Nov 03, 2005
...right away i noticed that the songs on the EP were slightly softer than those of the full-length (omit permanent). They have more of an emo feel. anyway, four new songs doesn't permit a purchase in my book, bought i bought the songs via download and since then they've gotten some play on my media jukebox. Slightly different, but key for acceptance fans.

5A great EP for a truly talented band...  Jul 17, 2005
This solid entertaining EP contains 5 studio tracks and the last 2 tracks are Live from Concerts. These songs are 'This Is Only A Test', and 'Rerun' are fillers but stand alone on their own right in this CD. This CD contains a enhanced multimedia section where the listener can access unique photo shots of the band in the studio as well as in a few of their concerts. It also includes Video band Bio Interviews. A Video clip of the song 'Permanant' is also on the enhanced version. I enjoyed the songs as well as the video clip. This young band has been around for almosy 6 years and have since this album brought out full successful albums. This is a rock group that brings together bits of Seattle Punk (from where they originated) with pure rock hooks. This should be any Acceptance fan's 'Must Get' list.
