Musical Perspectives Jul 20, 2010 Mary Chapin Carpenter just keeps surpassing the albums that come before;
her music is wonderful and insightful, a delight to the soul.
Mary Chapin Carpenter, Between Here and Gone Nov 30, 2009 Mary Chapin Carpenter's latest release is quite possibly her best. Between Here and Gone are 12 tracks of music that I compare to a favorite blanket. It will cover you with a sense of peace. Her voice and lyrics are reflective and are like the music she made before her commercial success. There is not a bad song on the release. And it is a shame that artists like her are no longer played on country radio or any other genre for that matter. If you want to hear one of the most gifted female performers of are time then you will want to check out Between Here and Gone. Mary Chapin Carpenter at her best.
subtle and profound Jun 03, 2009 gentle, profound.... subtle in the genius- bold in her theology.
this record recalls life: removed and fully engaged. reflected.
the record deserves tea and possibly a long drive.
it is easy to play in the kitchen in the early hours.
Between Here and Gone Mar 19, 2009 I really enjoyed this album particularly track 10. I meant to take it on vacation for 2 weeks and forgot it and I was extrememly disappointed- that's how much I liked it and I do love both the music and the lyrics. Mary reminds me of a talented version of myself and I share a cherished relationship with her music.
a work of true beauty Dec 05, 2008 I say that this album is Mary's best ever. It is trully a work of art, a collection of songs of amazing depth and timeless quality. It is one of those rare times when an album can move you, and stir up emotions not previously realised. The sheer beauty in these songs should give you a greater appreciation for being in the position and time in history where you are able to participate in their glory.
