18-Tracks + Bonus DVD --> That's Why I Love It More! Sep 26, 2009 This Limited Edition Japan Import has exclusives not found on any other "Because I Love It More!!" CD album release. Their is a hidden last track making it 3 bonus tracks. The case open up in a beautiful digi-pak with nice photos which holds two discs. The first being the album and the second disc the DVD with six videos [viewable in NTSC Region 2 compatible players or Apple Computers set up for it]. From all the different albums Amerie has released, it's obvious that her trend is not always predictable. Some have slower R&B tempos, others have mid-tempo with up-tempo or as with this --a fabulous, positive, up-lifting flowing album that is filled with mostly up-tempo, highly energizing, accelerator beats! This is an album to enjoy for it's re-charge effects, mood enhancing impact, and dance vibe!
The songs are easily identifiable for the typical single person, or for anybody who has issues of love that are never easy or understandable--like a roller-coaster. "Hate 2 Love U" is just that song that has the beats going on fast with Amerie singing how she can't control her desires of love as her feelings are very true thus accepting her lover's bad behavior. "Some Like It" has a distinct beginning with Amerie talking and singing very seductively as she says, "Hi, I'm Amerie (come closer)/I'm not gonna bite you, maybe excite you, if I really like you/So let's make it, take it easy, won't be sorry, boy believe me)..." The beats are charged with bangs, chirps, and added background vocals super fast paced. "Make Me Believe" has nice music with the uncertainties of giving love yet wondering if the result will be favorable. There's much varied dance vibes that go nicely as the next track titled "Take Control" then kicks in sealing the perfect vibe.
My favorite song is "Paint Me Over" for the message conveyed and the catchy hooks. It's about someone trying to make the other into someone else as not really satisfied with the actual person. Some lyrics, "I close my eyes to memorize the girl that I was before there was us/How to remember it's been so long since she's been around, I gave up myself and still I let you down... Your love's conditional/Mine I let you have for free/You had a price to your love and gladly I gave it up and now there is nothing left because I let you change all of me." Another favorite song, "When Loving U Was Easy" has themes of a love that seemed beautiful but it was "not" --not really. It's about loosing someone you loved with all your heart and not understanding how the blinders were so "on". The bridge has these lyrics, "I gave you everything I had didn't ask for anything that I didn't give you myself/If you didn't want to stay that was all you had to say...". Both songs are very relatable and extremely catchy in its hooks as the beats are very much upbeat.
"Gotta Work" is another track and favorite of mine that mentions it takes sweat to make it --as life has its ups and downs. There are days that are just not easy but you got to have the strength! The video on the DVD portion is absolutely fantastic with great dance choreography, visuals, and production.
Another excellent favorite is "Crazy Wonderful" followed by my ultimate top pick "That's What U R" as it has seductive styles that are great to unwind, loosen up, and fantasize. This song has a totally different sound as to the entire album. The music is bouncy, with Amerie sounding softer and breathier yet very distinct and deep. The hooks are off the chain, hot. To name one more favorite, "1 Thing" has a nice dance style that I truly play over and over [also on her Touch album]. Track 13, "All Roads" is a slower jam that touches those who haven't found love, who stop believing, or who give up. It has a deep romantic spiritual style along Amerie's vocals that are soothing, soft, and truly inspiring as there is hope in the end.
"Take Control (feat. Se7en)", "Take Control (Old Nick Mix)" and the last hidden "Take Control (Mix)" are a much added enjoyment as they escalate the dance moods, as well as bring much positive emotions. Each mix has a different style not at all repetitive as even the last hidden one is nothing at all like the others. It's got more speed than the regular versions, added instruments, and club ambiance not otherwise present without them. The hidden track has the hip-hop edge so many crave.
For more on the last bonus hidden track, "Take Control [Mix]", it has a featured artist that I've never heard of with a Jamaican or from the Islands vocal accent that definitely makes this a much fabulous Caribbean type mix with dance and up-tempo high energy music. The entire listening of the song has this featured artist in the beginning as well as the end. It was a huge surprise as I thought the album had ended but then this song came up. From all the mixes, this has to be my favorite for it's unique sound.
The DVD part has six videos with songs from All I Have, Touch, and Because I Love It. There are no featured artists on any of the videos as in the Touch Album Dual Disc which has "1 Thing" featuring Eve and "Touch" featuring T.I.
(1) Why Don't We Fall In Love- mid-tempo down-to-earth video with many love couple visuals
(2) Talkin' To Me - mid-tempo with romance on high, club scene, and dancing
(3) 1 Thing- dance type video with great choreography
(4) Touch - dance type video with great choreography
(5) Take Control - adventurous, fast paced with dancing
(6) Gotta Work - dance type video with great choreography
To sum up the listening experience I'd say: a happy, exotic, fun, fast paced highly energy packed album with positive vibes, excellent song-writing for all types of people single or not and much party sensations combined with kicking back and just taking your mind to some far away place, adventure, or fantasy--far away from reality. The tracks have great topics that include positive messages with no profanity, sexual encouragement, or trashy type explicit stuff. It's a nice, classy album for those who like to feel happy, and have a great enjoyment experience to take pleasure in!
Great album! Sep 17, 2009 Great album. Wasn't released in the U.S. so it was a little difficult to find. Amerie is a very talented artist and I can't wait for her next album!!!

Sooo sick!!! Sep 11, 2009 I'm so glad I got Amerie's latest CD, it's dissapointing that the "industry" is contributing so much to the restriction of her albums as an artist. I love this album I really can't stop listening to "when loving u was easy" my favorite track on the album. I have been a long time fan of Amerie since "All I Have" her first album, I've followed each of her releases since then and this girl still manages to sound different on each album, she's got skills, as soon as people try to fit her in their little category, she flips it. . The "Because I love It" album continues to emphasize her raspy, sexy, unique voice, which is what makes me love her music. Unlike alot of other artists more mainstream Amerie isn't afraid to play around with funky beats, strings, and vocal arrangements. She's In a class of her own, I love her and have always supported all her projects. This album just proves record labels, and management teams are making a huge mistake in underestimating her talent. This album is sooo sick!!!! I can't wait to see what she comes ip with next.
Get it girl!!!!.....
This Album will be worth a lot of money one day!!! Aug 27, 2009 Columbia Records never released this album in the United States so many people don't know much about it. Amerie delivered a solid, artistic effort. The album let us know more about the singer and her style on the album is amazing. She will be very successful in the years to come and one day this album will be worth a lot of money.
