An Absolute Masterpiece Mar 12, 2010 There are merely a handful of CD's that can be considered timeless, and this one is one of them. From beginning to end, this collection of songs is Gladys at her best. Not to mention I'm a huge Gladys Knight fan. If you're a fan this CD will not disappoint you. Sometimes when an artist creates a CD of Ballads, it diminishes some of their other works from the past and you tend to forget what a well rounded artist they are. This is not the case with Gladys Knight. This CD is an absolute masterpiece from beginning to end....
Brilliant CD. Dec 29, 2009 I purchased this CD for my husband as when we first met 33 years ago I had a LP called Still Together of Gladys Knights with a record which we played over and over again "To make a long story short" so have been looking for this recording so pleased to find it on the Beautiful Ballads CD also there are some of our other favourites, great CD to listen to when your in the mood for a romantic night.

Glorious Gladys Jun 09, 2009 This album of ballads celebrates one of the finest voices in pop music to come along in decades. Her master cover of Curtis Mayfield's "The Making of You" is a classic. And she could take a chestnut like "The Way We Were" and snatch it away from Streisand to make the definitive version. Gladys Knight has long been underappreciated as a fine song stylist. Young singers just starting out would do well to listen to this CD carefully and take note of how a great artist masters her craft. This is a fine collection.

Money well spent... Jun 18, 2008 Actually purchased this after seeing her in a Divas concert at Radio City Hall. Gladys is amazing live and literally gave me goosebumps. The album is a great buy and "Neither One of Us Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye" has already been played to death.
