Gorgeous tone & brilliant technique Feb 10, 2008 Midori's latest release, featuring the Bach Sonata #2 for Unaccompanied Violin in A-minor & the Bartok Sonata #1 for Violin & Piano, displays all of the gorgeous tone and brilliant technique that we have come to expect form this wonderful artist. For example, the sumptuous sounds from the opening Grave of the Bach piece are amomg the most beautiful she has ever commited to record. Her tone throughout the BWV 1003 is absolutely mesmerizing. Always considered a stunning virtuoso, Midori is in top form on the Bartok sonata, as well. Her dazziling technique in the third movement Allegro is simply spellbinding, and virtually worth the purchase price alone. This cd will go a long way in cementing Midori's reputation as positively one of the finest violinists of her generation.
