Station Addiction! Oct 15, 2009 Babylon 5 is one of the best written science fiction series ever made. It more than holds its own with its contempories such as Star Trek TNG (even though it may not have pulled in as many viewers) and with newer series such as the formidable Stargate SG-1, or its spinoff Stargate Altantis. (all of which I've watched in their entirety and am a big fan of!)
Season three is yet another winner from JMS. 22 episodes of tightly woven stories that seamlessly flow from episode 1 onwards
and further develop the storyline with the open emergence of the most malevolent (from the point of view of the much younger, less powerful races) First Ones--the Shadows, the conflict between a fading galatic power--the Centauri, and the Narns, and the increasingly cordial relations between the Minbari, mightiest of the galaxy's younger races, and the Humans, an unpredictible, powerful, and energetic younger race new to the galatic scene.
The chemistry between the actors pays huge divedends as Captain Sheridan, Amb. Delenn, Security Chief Garibaldi, former Psi Corp Telepath Lyta, Narn Amb. G'kar, Centauri Amb. Londo, and Commander Ivanova all deliver powerful performances across the episodes. Finally, more is also revealed about the nature of another group of First Ones, the secretive and incredibly powerful Vorlons, a contemporary of the ancient Shadows and generally their opposites in thought and action, and their chosen role in the galaxy's affairs. All in all, with B5 season three it would be all too easy to watch all 22 episodes over the weekend; it really gets ones attention----and enjoyment!

babylon 5 - 3rd season Sep 07, 2009 I have always enjoyed this TV series, glad to own it and looking forward to having the rest of the shows.
Great Season! Highly Recommended! Jun 07, 2009 This is a great season of Babylon 5. There is very good acting, great story lines, and strong characters.
There are very few "stand alone" episodes as many of the plots lines now span the entire season. There are serious issues to be addresses with EarthGov, Psi-Cops, Alien Alliances, The Shadows, and the occasional freelancer. We also see romantic relationships, friendships form, and a new major character is added. Marcus Cole (Jason Carter) joins the station as a "Ranger", he is a good addition and brings a lot to the series.
There is plenty of drama, action and the occasional surprise to keep the viewer engaged in the story. As with the previous seasons, the special effects are still somewhat weak, but considering that this show was made in the '90s, they are passable.
Recommended!
Absolutly the best season. Feb 27, 2009 This is the tightest and classiest of the Babylon 5 seasons. Every single member of the cast is firing on all cylinders this time. At the start the Narn's are a defeated people but not a broken one. Towards the end of the season that will change and the great war will begin. Because I like this season so much it is difficult for me to pick a favorite episode but it would have to be "And the Rock Cried Out no Hiding Place" where the Lord Refa arch is finally closed. Even Babylon 5 is not without its weak episodes however and for this season that award has to go to "Grey 17 is missing" an utterly pointless episode in a sea of great ones.
Overall-Enjoy it while it lasts because even the best of the Babylon 5 seasons does not last forever.
