This cd will wear out soon! Jun 24, 2005 This is the kind of cd that in the future will be stored
scratched and worn out! The best I've heard of Santarrosa,
awesome arrangements,superb musicianship,clever and intelligent
"soneo".ALL the tracks are addictive! Monumental.

Sizzling! Feb 09, 2005 For once I agree with the Amazon reviewer - Gilberto Santa Rosa's new album is outstanding, and must be a shoe-in for a Grammy (but then I thought that about Marc Anthony's Libre.)
The whole album is a smoking hot Latin Jam, with some great salsa romantica for contrast. The arrangements are innovative, complex and exciting. The plena - Lo Que Arraso is my favorite, and things really let loose on the last three tracks.
I have always enjoyed Santa Rosa's singing, tho as is usually the case, some salsas are just more interesting than others. But Autentico is a coherent consistent piece of work of very high quality musicianship.
Autentico is a must-have for just about anyone into Latin Music. You should buy it now!

Great album Jan 22, 2005 Gilberto says that this is his best album and one where he had the most influence. In it, he has his normal salsa romantica (which i'm not a big fan of) but also throws in a bolero and A PLENA !! Then at the end of the album the last three tracks are three old school hard hitting classic style Salsas that are amazing, especially #12 - excellent to dance to. This album is much better than his last and definitely worth purchasing. Highly recommended.

Gilberto has outdone himself Dec 16, 2004 A must have. As a timba fan I'm glad to see Gilberto flirting on the timba edge. Throwing in some Giraldo Piloto, and Isaac Delgado songs does not hurt either.

His best album yet! Sep 21, 2004 Aside from all those "Greatest Hits" cd's that you can find on Gilberto Santa Rosa, "Autentico" is, without a doubt, his greatest album yet. Unlike most salsa cd's that you find nowadays which only contain about 8 tracks, "Autentico" gives you 14 head-banging tracks (1 ballad, 1 plena, 12 salsa). ALL of his salsa tracks are on fire y tiene un swing tremendo!! He has a plena track on there too that makes you wonder why plena isn't played as much as it should be. This cd is very powerful and very moving, especially if you're a true salsero, which is why I say that it is a MUST-HAVE!!! Those who buy it will be 100% satisfied! Thank you Gilberto for sharing your wonderful gift to the salsa world!
