Good debut EP from West Coast indie-band Mar 13, 2009 Audrye Sessions is a West Coast indie-rock band whose sounds can be best described as a mix between Sibersian, the late, promising Seattle indie band that called it a day last year, and old-style Travis (era-The Man Who), with good hooks and emotions-on-their-sleeve. The band released this EP in October, 2008.
"Audrye Sessions EP" (4 tracks; 16 min.) starts off with its calling card, the immediately catchy, filled with great guitar hooks "Turn Me Off", a song that should've found a greater appeal on mainstream commercial radio if mainstream radio wasn't in the sorry state it is. "Awake" is in the same vein. "New Year's Day" is a pensive tune that starts off very quitely with acoustic guitar, to eventually build up. But the best track on the EP is "Where You'll Find Me", which recalls Travis' "Writing To Reach You", and has an incredible appeal to it. (Sounds like another single to me.)
Audrye Sessions has just released its self-titled and very promising debut album. All four of the tracks from this EP are included on the album, incidentally. Check out this EP, or the debut album. You will not be disappointed.
