Burt's Bach . . . Aug 02, 2006 When I went into the store to buy something else, and heard this CD playing I was mesmerized by the familiar sound. As I stood and listened to this beautiful work by Burt Bacharach, I knew it was going home with me. It's old Burt with a slightly new twist. This is a gifted man and those of us who remember his music from back in the day will not be disappointed with this nostalgic and timely piece of art. If you're looking for just plain 'feel good music' you won't go wrong with this one. I play it at home, in my car, and it makes nice background music for my office. Thank you, Mr. B!

MUST LISTEN FOR BURT BACHARACH FANS Nov 30, 2005 Let's just say that this CD has been on my player for 2 straight weeks. The songs are refreshing with a touch of nostalgia which is pure Bacharach. The recording is excellent too, played on a high end Audio system and you have the whole orchestra in your living room. The songs just grows on you. I don't agree with his politics but I love the music just the same. As for the Sony fiasco, I have not have any problems on my Mac. I just wish the people would rate Burt and not use this forum to rate sony.

Totally Disappointed with the Copy- Protection Snafu Nov 25, 2005 I heard this beautiful cd on Yahoo Unlimited Music.
It's some of Burt's best work in years. So I paid for
the cd thru Yahoo and downloaded the tracks, only to
find I cannot put them on my mp3 player- the device I
do most of my music listening thru. I guess I can listen
to it on my computer, but I rarely do that. Burt, tell
Sony they made a big mistake. Your music is so precious
to be this restricted. Heck, most all of the big illegal
downloading sites are no longer running so what's the
problem?

Sony sucks, Burt doesn't! Nov 23, 2005 This CD holds from start to end very sophisticated melodies, and - who would have thought that - is of outstanding quality!
I ordered this CD including the useless XCP software; however, since the auto-play function in my CD-Rom drive is permanently turned off, I did not expose my machine to this threat. I'm a fanatic audiophile ripping all my CDs at 256kbps onto my iPod; the only difference this time was that the music tracks on the CD were disguised as data tracks and were therefore not shown in iTunes. Well, there are lots of other rippers out there ;-) A downside was that I had to create the ID tags myself.
Auto-play is one of Bill's great inventions that allow others to install crap on your computer with your approval. So, just turn it off. It's as simple as that...

Burt is back Nov 22, 2005 After the disappointing woman had followed the rateehr good futures a very long time ago, I had not had much opportunity to see or hear much from Burt Bacharach. This CD comes as a very pleasant surprise. Of course his arrangements are very much the same but somehow he has managed to keep his dated sound fresh, which might seem a contradiction but this CD works fine musically.
