4One hit CD but the one hit is good.  Mar 09, 2010
I like the song "Savior", so I bought this CD. You could download the hit single "Savior", but I am a sound quality snob and I don't own a computer anyway.

5I Don't Think This Album Is A Fan of George W. Bush  Feb 14, 2010
Out of all the modern rock bands to come out over the past 5-10 years, Rise Against is certainly one of the better ones. Sure, they may be under a big label, and have polished production values, but at least they haven't gone into the radio-friendly road that Nickelback has dove head-first into the past decade. No, Rise Against is angry and they're directing their rage towards the government, as I'm pretty sure they don't care for the government and its policies. If you could ever make radio-friendly protest rock, then this would probably be it.

Highlights Include:
Collapse (Post-Amerika)
The Dirt Whispered
Re-Education (Through Labor)
Audience of One
Hero of War

Having been released on the day of the 2008 Presidential Election, the album isn't exactly subtle in where it plans on taking you. Its lyrics are biting, but rarely suffocate you with its message. But even when the message is front and center, songs like "Hero of War" are both haunting and viciously unrelenting. I mean, a lot of sick stuff goes on in that song, but its a well-told story that makes you linger on it long after the next track has come and gone. But that's also one of the few tracks that changes of up the band's sound, which may bother many. Instead of driving rock sound that is throughout most of the album, "Hero of War" is more of a one-man ballad with just an acoustic guitar and his story. And it serves the song well to this arrangement. However, if there was one thing you could really criticize the album for, it's for its lack of variety.

Overall, while it may be the direct opposite of subtle, if you enjoy the sound here, then you should find a lot of enjoyment out of this album. The singles actually sell the album really well and let you know what you're getting into. The band really hits one note with this album, but it hits it really well. So Rise Against all who stand in your way and get this album, because as everybody knows, you need to stick it to the man.

Real Score: 4.5/5

5CD - Rise Against  Jan 27, 2010
I received the CD in perfect condition and sooner than expected. Searching the Amazon site for music is really easy, I love the fact that you preview all the songs before you purchase and review suggested CD's as well.

2Poor showing from an otherwise great band  Jan 20, 2010
I've been a fan of Rise Against since the beginning (followed their basest after 88 Fingers Louie broke up) and this is by far their worst CD yet. After The Sufferer and the Witness redeemed them from Siren Songs of the Counter Culture I was hoping they were returning back to their punk rock roots. Sadly I was mistaken. This CD is radio rock through and through.

4No Problems  Jan 07, 2010
Had no problems with the CD - came in good shape and rather quickly.
Would recently buy from this person again.
