wonderful to read, full of insight. Nov 03, 2009 This book was wonderful for me to read. I am a cancer survivor and am cancer free long after the time I should be gone and this book puts all the truths I found for myself about diet and emotions and living cancer free in an excellent format and sequence. It took me years to find all that information. What a joy it would have been to have had this book at that time. I give this book three thumbs up!

Easy Read and Well Researched Information & Advice Nov 03, 2009 Dr. Servan-Schreiber is a brain cancer survivor and has done a great deal of study on the subject of natural methods of fighting cancer.
The only area where I think Dr. Servan-Schreiber could improve his nutritional recommendations is to eliminate the 18 oz. of grass fed or flax fed meat per week. He recommends that the meat be flax fed or grass fed - with the thought that this will make it healthy. Unfortunately, the amount he recommends will push a person's animal protein intake above the 5% level - the level at which the animal protein may become a tumor growth promoter. I agree with him that grass-fed or flax-fed animals will have a healthier fatty acid profile to their meat, but it isn't just the fat in the meat that is associated with causing cancer, it is also the animal protein itself. I also do not agree with his recommendation of using eggs from hens fed flax for the same reason. Other than those points, I find his nutritional advice quite sound. This book and "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell are the books that I would recommend to anyone who is fighting cancer or who wants to optimize their health.
Great source of info on taking proper care for your body and mind Oct 30, 2009 I listened to the audio version of the book and thought it was very insightful. The author doesn't impose his opinion, although he is a scientist and offers extensive research data on cancer. Some things were new for me, for example the fact that genes don't have the last say in whether a person will or will not get cancer.
I read the book for the purpose of learning to take better care of my body and mind. I have to say, I learned a great deal!
Well-documented guide to nutritional cancer-fighting Oct 23, 2009 As a stage-4 cancer patient, I find the dietary recommendations in Anti-Cancer to be an excellent adjunct to regular medical treatment (chemo) plus regular chiropractic to stay as healthy as possible while living with cancer. Using all three approaches, I am so far having improved quality of life, less discomfort, and am able to enjoy increased vitality every day, though my cancer is not considered to be "curable." The book offers suggested foods that have been shown to be efficacious against specific cancer types in addition to listing foods that are generally good for creating environments less encouraging to cancer cell development and growth. The center section has colorful, slick-paged lists and charts conveniently located for quick reference; the rest of the book is in a friendly, accessible style with interesting anecdotes of good outcomes from eating properly. Written for the average reader, not highly technical in style. (And I must admit, I still eat Frosted Flakes now and then, though I rarely have since childhood. One needs a few creature comforts...)
makes sense out of conflicting news on cancer and prevention. Oct 19, 2009 The best book I have read on cancer causes and prevention. He is able to explain why different studies have conflicting information and what it means to me and those that I love. I plan on giving this books as Christmas gifts because I think it is truly lifesaving information that everyone needs and most people can adopt. I have four loved ones undergoing chemo, and am very grateful to have found this book. Please Google the author, there are great videos of him speaking as well.
