All the Best of Priest Surfaces Here Nov 15, 2009 I don't have much to add to what others have said. Nevertheless, I found in this recording everything I like about Priest. But this album is not a rehash of old stuff. Instead, it's as if the guys listened to all that they had recorded previously, pulled out all the elements that worked best, expertly synthesized all those elements into unmistakably new songs, and produced one of the best recordings of music around, regardless of genre. (P.S. Nostrodamus is the antithesis of Angel of Retribution. I hope that the guys return to the sort of work they have done in Angel.)
Probably the worst CD ever Sep 11, 2009 A long time since this album has come out, I decided to remove the dust and cobwebs and give it a second chance. I have to be TOTALLY honest...this is the same atrocity I skipped through the first and last time. Most of the songs are mindless chug...not even worth writing a track-by-track interview about. Absolutely NO creativity seeing as MOST of the songs are in the same key as well, not to mention a 5 year old could pick out where the chord progressions are going off the cuff. My biggest disappointment, however, is the modern mastering done to the songs. Something about all recordings from the 60's to early 90's that just has a complete feel to them is missing, and leaves the CD sounding empty.
I'd have to say "Angel" is the only song worth listening to, bringing me back to "Before the Dawn" times.
Overall, I give this CD a "2 Girls 1 Cup" rating....disgusting.
Judas Priest at its best Apr 24, 2008 After releasing two mediocre albums with Tim Owens, Judas Priest has managed to prove there are no wrinkles in a band that has been around for decades. Angel of Retribution is one of those albums worth buying not just because it is Judas Priest, but because the songs are too good to be marred by the cyber-monster called piracy.
Bought more than one copy! Feb 15, 2008 I thought the collection of songs was outstanding and that Halford's voice has been kept in tact. Pretty remarkable after such a long hiatus, but the songs are well written and the mix of sound is superb. Couldn't wait for the tour, learned all the lyrics and still rock to them today! A CD I was able to turn a non-Priest fan onto, bought more than one copy. Finally, Rob's voice is superior to Geoff Tate's.

The Priest really are the Metal Gods Aug 02, 2007 I had almost given up on good metal becoming a reality in my lifetime (with a few rare exceptions of course) till the Priest reunited. I held my breath and hoped for at least a savory morsel from the past. That's not what I got: Judas Priest came back from the dead and kicked my arse! This is easily a collection of some of the best work of any metal band of any time...period. Judas Priest is REAL, and it shows in the music. It's classic Priest while being on the cutting edge of great metal.
Any metalhead must, and I repeat must own this CD. The DVD side reaffirms why metal isn't just great music to me but a way of life; it's an attitude about life and it's being part of a family (with a few disfunctional members like all families!).
Buy this CD and be prepared to raise your devil fist and be blown away.
All the best, MLC
