Joe - And Then... Jun 12, 2009 This is honestly, one of the most underated R&B albums of all time, from one of the best R&B singers of our time. Joe has easily one of the best pure R&B/soul voices ever. Its high, but not to the point where its annoying, and hes definetly got one of the smoothest voices as well. And on And Then we really get to hear a more grown & sexy side of Joe, than what we got to hear on Better Days. And Then doesnt have alot of up tempo/club tracks, besides the one party single "Ride Wit U", which features the hot at the moment G-Unit. But other than that, the rest of the album is pretty much ballads, and a few mid tempos, which is good because thats where Joe sounds the most comfortable. Like on the album opener "Sweeter Than Sugar", we get to hear Joe sing us a story of his extravagent lifestyle over this mellow Royalty beat that really sticks with Joes sugary vocals well. And on the first single "More & More", produced by the legendary R. Kelly, we get to hear Joe in his babymaking mood, which is always a good thing in Joe's case. But another area where And Then... excells in is the upped production crew. Instead of Joe producing the majority of the tracks on the album, like he normally does, on And Then... he lets other well know producers such as The Underdogs, take control on the beautiful ballad about finding that special someone, "Priceless". And on the extremely soulful "Testify", we get to here Joe sing in a different style than we are used to with this soulful Orthodox beat. And on Joe's I'm not cheating plea "It Ain't Like That", we get to hear another classic ballad produced by long time collaborator Allstar. And on the swaying mid tempo baby maker "Bedroom", Joe really comes with alot of swagger to make his vocals sound that much more convincing. Overall, And Then... is one Joe's most underated albums and i think it tends to get overlooked a little because it lacked a big hit single besides "Ride Wit U", but the album shows the more grown & sexy side of Joe, while the music still has a fresh-modern sound to it. In my opinion, And Then... is a classic.

What can I say? It's Joe Jul 11, 2008 One of the best CD's I have ever bought. I am a big Joe fan and he did not disappoint with this CD. Almost every track is smooth and seductive. This is definitely a CD that would want to listen to when you are with your lady or special guy. I recommend "And Then" to all of the lovers out there.
pleasant yet empty. Mar 24, 2008 for every 3 GOOD tracks here, there is one filler. that's just how it is.
Priceless, More & More, It Ain't Like That, Jeep and Ride Wit U are the super-awesome tracks. The first three sounding identical to the Joe we totally miss and the latter just being an irresistible mid-tempo groove (featuring MORE rappers).
Another Used To Be, Testify, You Dropped Your Dime, Make You My Baby and And Then... are in between the great and OK tracks. Good. Just not great.
Sweeter Than Sugar and Street Dreams are OK. They both get repetitive and the latter sounding like pleasant, pleasant filler.
Bedroom is hip-hop wannabe filler. Not unpleasant just not necessary.
3.75 stars.
end note: the nice voice hasn't changed. the mid-tempos take control again. a little bit of the hip-hop "i'm a thug" stuff. more good with the bad.
if you're a fan listen to samples and then decide. if you're not yet a fan start with "all that i am" or "my name is joe". those are his classics.
