Description:

Despite carrying still more of the apocalyptic trappings that have marked Busta's solo joints, Anarchy--touted by Elektra as the fourth in a trilogy, fittingly enough--is less a full-out blast of sociopolitical rage than the usual stack of free-flowing Rhymes consciousness. Both as winning and erratic as The Coming and E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) before it, Anarchy nonetheless captures its star's unhinged style with panache and a handful of tour-de-force moments. (Check out the Stereolab sample on "Show Me What You Got" or the Busta/Raekwon/Ghostface Killah/Roc-Marciano crime-tale summit, "The Heist.") Finally, Busta deserves props for getting something worthwhile out of Lenny Kravitz--the off-kilter Rockwilder-produced funk jam "Make Noise"--long past the rocker's artistic sell-by date. --Rickey Wright

3Anarchy revisited (3 and 1/2 stars)  Jan 07, 2008
Dont get it twisted. This is not a terrible album. Its a solid release which potential to be great was ruined by suspect production in certain parts. I understand that Busta was going for an experimental album here but the production at times, doesnt do his vivid delivery any justice. His flow was still intact here. Salute Da Gods, Bladow, Show Me What You Got and Anarchy are proof of this. Enjoy Da Ride and Anarchy have mellow production that is saved by Busta's delivery. Fire, Make Noise(feat Lenny Kravitz), We Comin Through, Bladow, and We Put It Down for Y'all showcase Busta's creative genius. A Trip Out Of Town is proof that Busta can tell a good story too. The Heist feat Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Roc Marciano is a dope collabo over an eerie beat. Another solid collabo shows up in the form of Why We Die(feat DMX and Jay-z). Live It Up and All Night are club records that sound out of place on here. Here We Go Again feat Flipmode Squad and Street S*** are terrible. I always thought Get Out was a horrible single and I still think it stinks. Ready For War is strange because I dont think a collabo with Busta Rhymes and M.O.P. is suppposed to put you to sleep like that song does. C'mon All My N****, Cmon All My B***** and How Much We Grew are just as boring. In short, Anarchy had potential to be one of the best experimental rap albums out there but the suspect and sleepy production keep it in the solid album category. This is far from Busta's worst album though. It Aint Safe No More is! Standout Tracks: SALUTE DA GODS, ENJOY DA RIDE, WE PUT IT DOWN FOR Y'ALL, BLADOW, FIRE, SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT, THE HEIST, WE COMIN THROUGH and WHY WE DIE.

3Shouldn't be missed but  May 01, 2006
It could use some more work on it. The production on this album wasn't that good in my opinion. But Busta is one of my favorite artists, so I had to pick it up. Most people will say this album is terrible, but it isn't. The people who say that are just used to his previous three albums, which were all atleast 4 stars. I was pleased to hear some really good tracks on this album like Salute Da Gods!!, Show Me What You Got, Get Out!!, How Much We Grew, Ready For War f/ M.O.P., Why We Die f/ DMX & Jay-Z, and my personal favorite The Heist f/ Raekwon, Ghostface, & Roc-Marciano. Some real fire in those songs. Another good thing about this album is that there are twenty two tracks all together. He is just doing what every artist does, trying to make every album a little different then the last one. If you are a Busta fan you should own this album.
