"The Best Male Singer Of Our Time" Aug 22, 2009 I first discovered Roch Voisine back in the late 1980's and was blown away by his beautiful voice and impeccable coverboy looks. I have followed his carrer closely and although he is extremely popular in Europe, especially France where he rivals only Madonna in popularity, the American market has always eluded him. I believe that if Roch had the same kind of management that someone like Celine Dion has had Roch Voisine would be a superstar on this side of the Atlantic. I also live not very far from Roch's hometown in New Brunswick, Canada, so the fact that Roch is a Maritmer makes my love for him even stronger. We are very proud of our Canadian singing exports, but Roch is special. This album "Americana" is filled with classic American songs that Roch has loved for years and he makes these tracks his own. He covers songs like "Ring of Fire", "Suspicious Minds", "Crazy", "Ode to Billy Joe", and my personal favorite Dolly's "I Will Always Love You" that is the best male version of that song. 14 tracks are included. A wonderful CD by an underrated singer and performer.

What a Voice! Jul 14, 2009 I really have just discovereed Roch Voisine. He has been making CD's since 1990 and I am now playing catch up collecting his music. What a voice and what a theme CD. The Canadian born singer salutes American music with this "Americana" CD and makes them his own! What a voice and what a great collection of songs. "You Never Can Tell", "City Of New Orleans" and "Ring Of Fire" are outstanding!
This is a must have CD for all!

Smooth and singable Jan 07, 2009 Roch Voisine was suggested to me while on a trip to France. I wanted to learn a pop/folk song in French. Only 3 songs on this contain any French which I find attractive to the novice French speaker.
The CD as a whole is nice to listen to. I think I'll see what some of his other CDs are like.
