Dance! May 20, 2007 Amen is a delightful combination of traditional Spanish music and modern dance music, with typically energetic vocals by the Salazar sisters. Even my hard-core musician brother, who thinks dance music and synthesizers are tools of the deveil, admitted it would be incendiary in the right nightclub.
It took a couple of spins to sink in when I bought it. Now I'm addicted.
Dare I call it disco flamenco? :-)
gypsy souls Jun 02, 2002 A very nice follow up from their remarkable previous work "Ole" with a nice blend of spanish and pop rhythms. From fatal gypsy romantic songs like "piel de seda", to hipnotic gypsy dance mix "San Jose" (One of my favorites)Great CD...

mediocre overall. May 12, 2001 The opening title track is a great dance tune , but the rest of this disc just does not cut it. It seems rather uninspired. As music to simply dance to , I would say this is adecuate. Yet overall as a recording this falls short. These girls have some great artistic ability- There are some rather "sensous" moments, and they throw in a good share of slower tunes for a good mix, but they can't seem to get out of the rut of mediocrity. The tune "tutur" is an example of the potential they posses. I'd say if you like Thalia w/ touch of disco this may be up your alley , but if your standards are high, be careful with this one.

AWSOME MUSIC! Jul 26, 2000 Azucar Moreno once more delivers and incredible CD filled with beautifully arranged rumba. "Amen" is a bit different from the previous releases in that it has more Spanish rumba and even the slow songs have great guitar arrangements. The lyrics are very uplifting and sensual, which makes each song a sensory treat. I truly hope they continue to produce more music because they are showing that with each release, they just keep getting better.
