can't go wrong with sara groves... Nov 09, 2009 A Christian Joni Mitchell in that her lyrics are as engaging as her arrangements. She is disarmingly transparent and insightful.
An Early Hit! Aug 25, 2009 Sara Groves' very early album "All Right Here" is simply an unexpected marvel. After enjoying a number of her more recent titles, I ventured to delve into her first efforts, not expecting anything as beautiful and professional as those more well-known, newer albums. I was shocked - as well as utterly pleased - by Sara's breakthrough 2002 work. It is filled with richness, poignancy, passion, and depth. I can enjoy it for hours, especially the tune, "Maybe There's a Loving God."
Christian Music (the way I actually like it!) Dec 21, 2008 I'm a rare Christian perhaps, but most of the mainstream Christian music bores me to tears! It all sounds the same (as if the same three chords are being used again and again until I can't tell one song from the next), it is bland and mild (practically no edge, very little experimentation), and becomes so repetitive lyrically that I wonder why the writers aren't getting sued on copyright violations.
BUT! All Right Here is the kind of Christian music I LOVE. It doesn't "sound like Christian music" (in the "oh my gosh, I can tell the difference between each song!" kind of way), is lyrically astounding, and still carries God's messages! Sara's vocals are definitely comparative to Sarah McLachlan as Amazon's review states...they are calming, soothing, and a joy to listen to.
For those who complain that this album is secular? I'm honestly surprised. Okay, so Sara doesn't mention God or Jesus a ton, but I honestly don't understand how that automatically translates into secular. All of these songs are prayers I have said to God or whispers from Him that I have heard. While I've heard that "You Cannot Lose My Love" was written by Sara about her son...I cried because I felt God's love for me (and all His children) in that song. "Every Minute" is how my friendship with God feels. "Just One More Thing" reminds me to make time for God.
Honestly, this is one of my favorite albums and it's well worth the 13-15$ (heck, I'd probably pay that much just to own "You Cannot Lose My Love."

an encouraging CD for someone in recovery Nov 12, 2008 This CD has some thought provoking songs for someone in recovery, trying to think through and answer some of the hard questions of life. One song talks about love empowering us so much that we can fly or at least be willing to try.
Another Great Album by a Great Artist Dec 21, 2007 Sara Groves just keeps putting out great albums with great music. Very inspiring lyrics with great music and vocals. I really like the title track and the song "You Cannot Lose My Love." A must for all Sara Groves fans or just fans of great music.
