Good but not their best. Sep 12, 2009 This album is ok. It took a while for it to grow on me, and it still doesn't compare to their earlier releases. Many of the songs have lost what I love about Alkaline Trio's older stuff. The music sounds way over-produced and it's obvious that they had help from proffessional songwriters in order to make this album more palatable for fans of trendy, predictable pop / alternative / "punk" music. I'm afraid that more mainstream releases like this will reshape Alkaline Trio into another group of faux-goth posuer weirdos that release horribly watered down compromised music; like what happened to AFI. With that being said, it's a must have for true Alkaline Trio fans strictly for the reason that it will help complete your collection. But If you really want to experience what the band can offer, buy the self-titled album, Godammit, or Maybe I'll Catch Fire.
Good Cd!!! Jun 15, 2009 this band is great, it's definatly a cd you can put in and listen the whole way through.
Enjoy the Crash Mar 18, 2009 Alkaline Trio's evolution into a power pop band hits a high point with "Agony & Irony." From the opening track "Calling All Skeletons," it's evident that a melodic sense melds to their classic guitar thunder & wildly individual lyrics, "These feelings tend to leave me with a hole in my chest." The slower track "Live Young, Die Fast" jumps out with the booming guitars and churning chorus, "So sit back & relax, enjoy the crash; You fade into black & you're gone." "Love Love, Kiss Kiss" teases with its playful childlike melody & complex lyric, "I'll dedicate it to the fact that it's so hard for you to dream; A million heartbeats all around you make it hard to sleep." Other tracks like "Over & Out" & "I Found Away" are also strong. Alkaline Trio is creating interesting music that keeps sounding better the more it spins. Enjoy!

Good one. Jan 29, 2009 it's a typical alkaline trio album although they're slowing their tempo a little bit in this album.I expected that kind of music after all these years in the making.most of their tracks are catchy ,but thats just personal opinion,i need a little up tempo drums.their song are kind of similar to each other.but this album worths listening to it

Solid Release Nov 25, 2008 This album is poppier like their last release with quality sound and structure. Still solid true rock (the trio was always more EMO than Punk folks) music that deserves a listen. I'm glad they are finally getting some deserved radio play and will be able to make some money well earned for all their hard work. I'm sorry people miss their old sounds (from a decade ago), but 90s music will not sell in today's market and nobody is going to produce and pay for an album they have heard before. I'm so glad the band is still together, progressing with the times and their age. I look forward to what comes next.
4 stars because there were a couple songs that didn't do too much for, but that's the case with most albums.
