Twista became a household name with 2004's star-studded affair Kamikaze, which led many to revisit his breakthrough, 1997's "Adrenaline Rush" (his earlier LPs, 1992's Runnin' Off at Da Mouth and 1994's regional pressing "Resurrection" are all but impossible to find). Twista won fans with his jaw-dropping performances on Do or Die's albums Picture This and Headz or Tailz, and "Adrenaline Rush" follows a similar blueprint. Employing fellow Chicagoan and renowned Do or Die producer Legendary Traxster, the music bears a distinctly Midwest vibe with his recognizable dark, mechanical funk. Although it lacks the soul of Do or Die's first two and the undeniable pop appeal of Kamikaze, Twista steals the show and makes his a memorable performance.
As anyone who's heard Twista is aware, his delivery is among the most noteworthy in hip hop. He was once dubbed Guinness World Records' fastest rapper, and for speed alone he is incredible. But if only MC-ing were so simple--then Tech N9ne might be dubbed one of the greats--no, Twista amazes with his overall flow. His lyrical assaults are tireless and exhibit premier breath control while maintaining a somewhat melodic, sing-song quality. But perhaps most importantly, Twista's verses are coherent such that every word is immediately understood. His approach is no gimmick; it is a gift to which few MCs can compare.
Twista's versatile enough that he can shine over any production, which is probably a reason he's such a sought-after guest rapper. "Adrenaline Rush" is a consistent effort with solid beats such that there are neither standouts nor lowlights on the tracklist. Twista also succeeds on the sheer conviction he applies to his songs. The dark feel works well. Notable tracks include the ruthless "Unsolved Mystery," the smooth and contemplative "Korrupt World," and the posse cut "Mobster's Anthem," where Traxster flips an infamous Leon Haywood sample to great results. "Adrenaline Rush" suffers in a few spots, being the worthless skits, notably weak guest spots, and some instances of generally inconsequential lyrics.
"Adrenaline Rush" does a nice job of capturing Twista's lightning-in-a-bottle talent and making some good music out of it. I recommend that fans of Do or Die or his later work check this out.

i kno how good he is and i only saw it in a few songs on this cd

First off, this is NOT Twista's debut album, it's actually his third those the first two are hard to find, the second was never even officially released.
Anyways, this album is just a striaght up Chi-town classic. Trust me, if you do not have this album, cop it. You won't be dissapointed.

Dude crushes the mic on every track. This is my third time coppin this joint through the years. It's a must have for the collection if you're a cat that loves lyricism. If you get it,don't let anyone borrow it. You might not get it back from them. The lyrics are crucial.

Twista's first album was his best album period. Twista's style can be described a rapid fire flow with tongue twister type of lyrics. Unfortunatly Twista has not been the same after The SpeedKnot Mobstaz album. Standout Tracks:ADRENALINE RUSH, DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR, IT FEELS SO GOOD, OVERDOSE, MOBSTER'S ANTHEM,EMOTIONS, UNSOLVED MYSTERY, KORRUPT WORLD, and NO REMORSE. Filler: Get It Wet and Emotions remix(snoozer alert). Bottom Line: Adrenaline Rush is Twista's finest work ever. Twista flows smoothly from track to track, the production was nice and the guest appearances werent bad themselves. Its sad that Twista changed his whole style around and put out that garbage album The Day After. I strongly recommend this album over The Day After anyday.
