Proof that good childhood memories are good for a reason Aug 19, 2009
What a great experience to be whisked away back to my youth. That hasn't happened in a long time but this album accomplished it. And I believe the reason it was so successful in accomplishing this task is that the music is top notch instrumental jazz.
I didn't know much about jazz in my younger days. I know a bit more now. So it was a double pleasure to enjoy this album not only for sentimental reason but also just from the solid creativity and expression behind the music.

I don't think I need to familiarize potential customers with the TV special "A Charlie Brown Christmas," for which this soundtrack was composed, except to say that it remains one of my all time favorite Christmas stories.
How nice it was to be able to listen to the entire soundtrack, without cuts, dialog, or commercial breaks.
The tasteful jazz from Guaraldi is simply beautiful, and there are some songs that are simply perfect for the Christmas theme, and one that ANYONE will know instantly, that being the fantastically infectious "Lucy and Linus."
"Christmas Time is Here" is terrific, with real kids singing and not some adults doing falsetto.
And, of course "Hark the Heralds Sing" is such a great closer.
Trust me, if you are looking for a CD to put on for Christmas, or even when you want some music to make you smile, I highly recommend this one.

This is the best Christmas music for me. It's soothing and smooth, innocent and easy to listen to even when it's not Christmas. The arrangements are soft and imaginative, ethereal. I love it. 5 Stars...get it you won't be sorry.

This is the most charming Xmas music...it has been our favorite this holiday season! It's such an "easy listening" collection of songs and evokes a calm smile at Xmas! Love it!!!
